• Research, write, edit, index, or revise user documentation of large scope and technical complexity for a worldwide audience.
• Writes documentation based on design specifications, consultation with the development team and by using the product.
• Generally works as a member of a documentation or product team, and may lead projects of limited scope.
• Exercises judgment within generally defined procedures/practices and may select methods/techniques for achieving solutions when current project is similar to previous projects.
• Participates in team decision-making and team tasks that contribute to the documentation development process.
• Develops a broad knowledge of company products, team deliverables, and client business goals.
• Keeps abreast of trends in technical communication; shares knowledge with other team members.
• Leads and participates in meetings with Subject Matter Experts (SME); communicates updates to all appropriate parties.
• Scopes and manages projects/tasks to bring assigned documentation projects to successful, timely completion.
• Scopes and coordinates technical documentation projects, as assigned.
• Identifies and secures necessary project resources, including SMEs.
• Defines the target audience and information deliverables.
• Assist in developing and improving technical documentation standards and procedures
• Develops subject matter expertise in more than one area of technical communication and information management.
Requirements:
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Communications, Journalism or equivalent.
• Core skill(s) required: technical writing experience, documentation experience, understanding of documentation development processes, procedures, and standards.
• Strong research and planning skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft products (Word, Visio, SharePoint Designer, etc.) and collaborative technologies (Web conferencing, discussion forums, SharePoint).
• Preferably with a background in web design
• At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
