Job Qualifications:

•At least two years experience in development and/or maintenance of life insurance applications, whether in a technical (eg. Developer) or functional (eg. Business Analyst) role.
•In-depth knowledge on key insurance value chains such as New Business, Underwriting, Policy Administration and Claims and familiar with different life insurance products (Pension, Annuity). Preferably, but not required, familiar with insurance concepts related to Distribution (Sales Support, Sales Management – Agent, Commission) and operations area (Billing, Investment).
Preferred Skills:

•Software web development/programming experience.
•Programming experience in other languages (eg. Cobol) can also be considered.
•Experience in the following technologies are highly preferrable: HTML, Javascript, RIA concepts, Java/JEE, WebServices, JPA, ORM, SOA, SQL(Oracle/ANSI), Batch tools (TeraStream), Oracle 10g.
Job Description

The candidate will be part of a project team performing Application Maintenance for a client in the Life Insurance industry. He/She will be given a Lead Analyst or Lead Developer role, responsible for analyzing issues, providing initial recommendations, and assigning tickets to application developers for resolution.

Additional responsibilities may include the following:

•Analysis of enhancement requests and simple service requests.
•Analyze and design enhancements, development programs, and/or required fixes to production problems.
•Participate in code reviews
•Informs the application SME and Delivery Lead of any issues that may affect any other areas of the project.
•Follow the unit’s Change Management and Configuration Management processes for all relevant software items.
•Document the application to facilitate maintenance.
•Monitor and update ticketing tool such as SMS, ITSM and CMS.
